Choosing The Right People

This Month’s tip about hiring the right people so that your images will be beautiful and your wedding will go on without a hitch.

You  have selectively chosen only certain close friends and family to be in your wedding party. Your pre-cermeony moments will be filled with excitement, nervousness and  personal emotions. We recommend hireling someone to photograph and film your wedding day, who you feel comfortable with. These two strangers who you will also be spending the whole day with, should make you feel comfortable. When your comfortable, you will get the best images.

This reminds me of a recent Orlando wedding I shot. When I entered the room where the Bride was getting dressed, something was off. I could tell by the look on the brides’s face that the Bride was NOT happy. So I politely said hello, and started to set up. While filming some shots of the makeup artist and the dress details, I was trying to be observant and figure out what was wrong. I finally figured it out, any time the photographer came in the room the bride’s face changed… she was MAD at the photographer! Anytime I shot when the photographer was close the Bride, she put on a grim look. This moment we can all learn from. As a client, you need to make sure you choose the right vendors to surround yourself with.

The list of tips when trying to choose the right videographer and photographer.

  • Meet in person or on the phone to get a better feel of what type of personality they have
  • Make sure the person you meet is the person that will be filming you.
  • Find out about personal interests and other facts that may help you decide who to go with.
  • Trust your gut – when in doubt, don’t.

As filmmakers, we want you to be comfortable, because when you are happy and feel good, you will look your best. Choosing the right people to capture your wedding will ensure a great day and beautiful images.
